June 23, 2015

The SmartAPPetite project recently completed the second phase of our project of creating a healthy eating, local food application that will cover the geographical area of Southwestern Ontario. The work of the collaborative team, which included the Human Environments Analysis Laboratory at Western University, the London Training Centre, Brescia University College, and Wilfrid Laurier University, is detailed in a final Summary Report. The report describes:
  • The local food provider engagement that was sought prior to developing the application;
  • The survey of current local food provider marketing efforts, and preliminary results;
  • A description of the project deliverables, which include an iphone application, an interactive website, and a comprehensive database of messages & vendor information;
  • Activities that engaged the public in the project, such as various launch events or media attention; and
  • A Financial Sustainability Plan.
